The European e-Skills Week 2010 campaign, which kicked off in Brussels on 22 October 2009, aims to raise awareness of the growing demand of highly skilled ICT practitioners and users within the industry.

Improving Europe's skill base: new IT career portal launched - 09/10/2008

 Leaders of the IT sector have launched a new initiative to promote e-Skills in Europe, at the e-Skills conference held in Thessaloniki, Greece.  Set up under the leadership of the e-Skills Industry Leadership Board (ILB) and supported by the European Commission’s DG Enterprise and Industry, the pilot e-Skills career portal is a keystone in long-term strategy to address the skills gap in the IT sector.

Data Protection Day

 

Celebrate Data Protection Day through digital creativity! - 29/09/2009

Young Europeans between the ages of 15 and 19 years are invited to enter the Data Protection Day competition (www.dataprotectionday.eu) and to create digital artwork highlighting the following theme “Privacy is a human right, handle with care.” For the second consecutive year European Schoolnet and Microsoft are building on their partnership to celebrate Data Protection Day on 28 January, joined notably by Coface, VUB and the Council of Europe.

3rd Annual Data Protection Day - 28/01/2009

BRUSSELS, Belgium – 28 January 2009 —Today, Microsoft is pleased to take part in the 3rd annual Data Protection Day, hosted by Sophie in’t Veld, MEP, at the European Parliament in Brussels. Data Protection Day aims to raise awareness about data protection and privacy and address growing concerns surrounding online activity, bringing together the Council of Europe, the European Commission, European Parliamentarians and partners from across Europe.

 

Celebrate Data Protection Day by making your own video! - 17/11/2008

Young Europeans between the ages of 15 and 19 years are invited to take part in the "Surf the internet - think Privacy" competition which was launched this week at www.dataprotectionday.eu. The challenge is to create a 30 to 90 seconds video to illustrate the theme of data privacy and data protection.
